Suffering for Christ

"I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ,
for the sake of His body, which is the church,
of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you,
to fulfill the word of God,
the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints."

~ The Apostle Paul (Colossians 1:24-26)

The Apostle Paul rejoiced in His sufferings for Jesus Christ and His Gospel.  That idea seems foreign to many American Christians today. Instead, many of us think that Jesus has promised His followers a life of health, wealth, and prosperity -- you know, your "best life now." But was that really the experience of the early Church -- and perhaps more importantly, which of these contradictory perspectives did Jesus promise for His followers today?  Join us as we explore what Scripture truly says on this matter.
