Worship King Jesus
(Matthew 2:1-2)

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
~ The Gospel According to St. Matthew (Matthew 2:1-2)
Wise Men Worshipping King Jesus
Matthew gives the account of the wise men who came to worship King Jesus.  While this passage often serves as the basis of various Nativity scenes, there is so much more truth provided here than what we generally think of in regards to this passage.

For instance, why were these men truly "wise"?

What does it mean to truly "worship" Jesus (HINT: it has very little to do with church music)?

And perhaps most importantly of all, what's the significance of these men recognizing Jesus as the "King of the Jews"?

Join me as I attempt to unpack these truths in a fairly short, but hopefully impactful, sermon about this event.
