Why the Epistles?
A Pause Before Colossians 1:15

Have you ever wondered why Paul wrote his Epistles to the early churches?  After all, weren't most of these churches full of the Spirit? Weren't the spiritual gifts (i.e., the charismatic gifts or gifts of grace) operating almost in excess?  If these churches were so full of the Spirit, why did they still need written instructions from the Apostle?  Wasn't their "personal relationship" with God enough, especially considering the fulness of the Spirit that was present in so many of them?  If any of these questions intrigue you (or offend you), please take a few moments to listen to the sermon below.
